Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, all about road presence…

Hyundai, always known for its major cosmetic upgrades every few months with almost every model of its, has now again come up with its face-lifted version of Grand i10 which is now named as the Grand i10 Nios.

Hyundai Eon used to be the entry level hatchback by the company in India. But after they stopped the production of the mini beast, i10 is now considered the company’s entry level hatchback. 

As Indian market is full of tight competitors, there has to be something unique with the car to attract the buyers, and this is what Hyundai focused on while introducing the Grand i10 Nios.

Now i10 Nios comes with 7 variants- 1.2 kappa VTVT era, 1.2 kappa VTVT magna, 1.2 kappa VTVT sportz, 1.2 kappa VTVT asta, 1.2D U2 CRDi magna, 1.2D U2 CRDi sportz AMT, 1.2D U2 CRDi asta.

Oh My God! So many variants… What does Hyundai really want to do?! Confuse the customers. “When you can’t convince them, then just confuse them”.. ok ok jokes aside, let’s get back to the point.

Starting from its bold front look,

as I said, you need to come up with something unique to outstand in the market, and here i10 Nios gets DRLs.. no no, wait! Having DRL is not unique, but it gets boomerang DRLs… Yes! That’s what the company has named the shape of these DRLs, and believe me, they are actually giving it a super aggressive rather a bold look.

Now i10’s headlamps are equipped with projector setup, and not only headlamps but also the fog lamps have now got projectors, which increase the visibility on the roads.

Coming to the side posture,

 it will surely remind you of the earlier Generation Grand i10. There seems no major change when you look at the side posture, except that the design of the alloys has been changed a bit from those we used to see on almost all the Hyundai cars, named as the “diamond cut” pattern. When observed closely, the window area has been increased a bit to make the cabin feel more spacious.

Now, rear end of the car is the portion where you will get a little bit disappointed

It seems as if the designer of the car was tired when he came to the rear end and then decided to just take an idea from its competitor in the market. Anyone can easily tell that the rear end of i10 Nios has a very high resemblance with our very own Tata Tiago. Okay! Jokes aside, but on a serious note it holds a close resemblance with Tata Tiago, in fact when I first saw this car on road in front of me, I thought someone has just put the logo of Hyundai instead of Tata on the Tiago.

Okay, no problem! Let’s now move to the interiors; hope we find something unique over there.

Look what this beast got inside! Yes many of the cars are now-a-days coming with wireless charging system. But i10 Nios is the first car in its segment to come with wireless charging and making it hassle free to charge your cell without those entangled charging wires.

Having a touch screen infotainment system is not something special in today’s technology equipped world. But the placement of the infotainment system in this car is something which attracts your attention over the screen again and again and gives you a feel of some premium car when you are inside the cabin.

The infotainment system comes with Bluetooth connectivity, smart android and apple play as well. Unlike its rival Swift, the touch screen provided in Nios is bigger than the Swift. Nios comes with 8 inch display and auto climate control.

Now, when we have compared it with its chief rival in the market, let me tell you that i10 Nios is even more comfortable when it comes to its rear seats as it has more leg room compared to that of Swift.

Safety features

i10 Nios comes with 2 front airbags, ABS and EBD as standard.

But what I found something as a very helpful safety feature in this car is the blinking feature in its stop lamp while emergency braking.

 This feature is basically designed to gain the attention of the driver coming from the rear end at the time of emergency braking, thus preventing the car coming from the back colliding into your car.

So I guess Hyundai left no stone unturned to make The Grand i10 Nios look stunning, bold and set its competitors back.
